Problem Note 58134: Rule flow server selection error in SAS® Business Rules Manager

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When executing a test in SAS Business Rules Manager, if a library is not assigned to an application-server context, then a server-selection error might be displayed. The error is displayed in the log:

date time,148 [tomcat-http--2] ERROR [xxxxxxx] com.sas.brm.service.JobManagementServiceImpl - java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sas.brm.service.JobManagementServiceImpl.deployJobImmediateWait(JobManagementServiceImpl.java:61) ...

If you execute a test case and expect results, but there are no results, then the library might not be assigned to an application-server context.

There is no workaround.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

After you apply the hot fix, a new property is available:

brm.default.application.server.context.override=SASApp-available-to-system

To access the SAS Business Rules Manager properties on the Plug-ins tab of SAS® Management Console, follow these steps:

  1. Expand Application Management.
  2. Expand Configuration Manager.
  3. Select SAS Application Infrastructure.
  4. Select Enterprise Decision Manager 3.1.
  5. Right-click Business Rules Manager Web 3.1 and select Properties.

The Business Rules Manager Web 3.1 Properties dialog box is displayed. Set the property to the appropriate context server (for example, SASApp).
